Büyük Han, located in the northern part of Nicosia, is one of the finest examples of Ottoman architecture in Cyprus and one of the most important historical landmarks in the city. Built in 1572 shortly after the Ottoman conquest of Cyprus, this grand caravanserai served as a place of rest and lodging for merchants and travelers. Today, Büyük Han has been beautifully restored and repurposed as a cultural center, housing small craft shops, art galleries, and cafes, making it a vibrant hub for both locals and tourists.
