Porta Uzeda is a majestic Baroque gateway in the heart of Catania, connecting Piazza del Duomo with the city’s historic streets. Built in 1696 as part of the city’s reconstructed walls, it was named after Juan Francisco Pacheco Téllez-Girón, Duke of Uzeda, the Spanish viceroy of Sicily at the time.
