Paks Margareeta, or Fat Margaret, is a massive, round artillery tower located at the entrance to Tallinn’s Old Town, and it now houses the Estonian Maritime Museum. Built in the early 16th century as part of Tallinn’s medieval fortifications, Fat Margaret was designed to defend the city’s important harbor and impress visitors arriving by sea. Its thick walls and grand size earned it the nickname Paks Margareeta, making it one of Tallinn’s most iconic landmarks.
