Rising above the historic streets of Stampace, one of Cagliari’s oldest quarters, the Chiesa Collegiata di Sant’Anna je mistrovským dílem 18th-century Baroque architecture, dominating the urban landscape with its monumental beauty. Its twin bell towers, sweeping staircase, and richly decorated façade carved from white limestone give it a striking presence visible from across the city.
Construction began in 1722, after an earthquake destroyed the earlier church on this site, and the new building quickly became one of the most important religious and cultural landmarks in Cagliari. Inside, the church reveals a spacious nave lined with marble altars, sculpted details, and soft natural light pouring through high arched windows. The atmosphere is one of dignity and devotion, deeply rooted in the traditions of the Stampace community.
