Changdeokgung Palace – A Royal Retreat in Harmony with Nature
Changdeokgung Palace, nestled against the forested hills of ソウル, is one of the most beloved and beautifully preserved palaces from the 李朝内蔵 1405, it was the favored residence of many kings and stands out among Korea’s royal palaces for its unique layout, which follows the natural topography rather than strict symmetry. In 1997, it was recognized as a ユネスコ世界遺産 for its outstanding example of palace planning that integrates architecture with the landscape.
Unlike the formal grandeur of Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung is graceful and organic. Structures like Injeongjeon Hall (the throne hall), Seonjeongjeon (the royal council hall), and Huijeongdang (the king’s private residence and office) blend seamlessly with the gardens and wooded surroundings.
